The artwork consists of doors and
windows remained from the buildings
under renovation throughout
Bogazkesen-Yeniçarşı streets in
İstanbul. The plastic cover used around
them alludes buildings under a
renovation process and gives an
impression that the space is out of use
and transient, as well as causing a
limited accessibility to the outside.
In our attempt to discover what we are
surrounded with, doors and windows
function as thresholds opening from
inside to outside, or reverse. In the
artwork, they appear also as the
objects that have been removed as a
result of not being needed and are not
present in an expected place any longer,
the objects we can think as an absence
somewhere else.
